Joshua Wiebe, Lachlan Kirkey, and Rockston Ror-Chow named Source for Sports Players of the Month for November

The Alberta Elite Hockey League is pleased to announce Joshua Wiebe (Calgary (NW) Flames – U18 AAA),  Lachlan Kirkey (Fort Saskatchewan South Fort Chev RangersU17 AAA), and Rockston Ror-Chow (Knights of Columbus Squires – U15 AAA) as the Source for Sports Players of the Month for November.

U18 AAAJoshua Wiebe (Forward – Calgary (NW) Flames)

Calgary (NW) Flames winger Joshua Wiebe currently sits atop the league in assists and points, thanks to 16 points in seven games throughout the month of November. His month included a five point game on November 13 and his efforts have helped the Flames to second place in the South Division.

“Josh has been a key contributor this season. Known for his ability to set up his teammates for goals, Wiebe paced the Flames with thirteen assists and three goals in helping the team stay on pace in the South Division” said Flames Head Coach Ben Shervin. “He was at the top of his game, consistently creating scoring opportunities and putting the puck in the back of the net. His skill and hockey IQ were on full display as he helped the team to several victories. Overall, Wiebe’s performance in November was outstanding as he continues to work on all aspects of his game.”

U17 AAALachlan Kirkey (Goalie – Fort Saskatchewan South Fort Chev Rangers)

Lachlan Kirkey, a goaltender for the Fort Saskatchewan South Fort Chev Rangers, put up very impressive numbers in the month of November. Through his five games played, he led all goalies with a 1.21 GAA, while posting one shutout and sporting a .959 save percentage. Lachlan’s strong month has helped the Rangers to first place in the North Division.

Lachlan is a high quality goaltender and person. He treats others with respect and is viewed by his peers as a great teammate. He continuously works at his craft and is known as a goalie who never quits on a puck. Lachlan’s competitive and driven to win, very deserving of recognition for his performance this month,” said Rangers Head Coach Mason Hawkes.

U15 AAARockston Ror-Chow (Forward – Knights of Columbus Squires)

Squires forward Rockston Ror-Chow had a November to remember. Finishing with 12 goals and 12 assists in just seven games, his 24 points was far and away the highest total during the month and has vaulted him into the top ten league scoring.

“Our captain, Rockston Ror-Chow has been an integral part in helping the Squires achieve a 6-1 record in the month of November; catapulting the team up into 3rd place in the North Division,” said Squires Head Coach Ehren Menard.

“On the ice, Rockston plays an honest game, focusing on both sides of the puck and playing in all situations for the Squires. As a leader, Rockston is a positive example at practice, in the locker room, in school and during games. He consistently volunteers with his younger brother’s U13AA hockey team and brings a smile to the rink everyday. His special month of 12 goals and 12 assists in only 7 games is secondary to all that he contributes to our team and to our club.”
